About Cara

Hi, I'm Cara! I'm a former professional ballet dancer and currently dance in Austin as a professional modern dancer. I am passionate about sharing my love of dance with others. I have over 6 years of experience teaching dance. At the age of 3, ballet stole my heart. The things it has taught me have been applicable in so many areas of my life. I hope to help others find joy in ballet and strongly believe that every body is a ballet body.

About the lesson

The private in-home lessons will consist primarily of ballet barre work (I will provide a barre) and also include personalized stretching/conditioning and some ballet center work when space allows. Open to ages 7+ and all experience levels.

While there are many wonderful things about ballet, sometimes it can feel inaccessible and taxing on the body. But I believe that ballet can be joyful and beneficial to anyone! I teach ballet in a way that is both challenging and safe and takes each client's needs and goals into account.

At this time I only offer in-person lessons in the client's home.

Cara is a wonderful dance teacher! She is currently a dancer with a modern dance company in Austin and has been training as a ballet, and modern/contemporary dancer since childhood. She is very patient with all students regardless of their skill level and is a very encouraging instructor. Her ability to guide a beginner like me through the precise movements required for ballet is remarkable. Cara is a kind and excellent teacher!

I first met Cara because we both danced at Oberlin College. She was a teaching assistant for a beginning ballet class that I was a student in. Cara has decades of training as a ballet and contemporary/modern dancer. She is an excellent teacher not only because she has so much knowledge to share, but also because she is detail oriented, encouraging, and truly cares about her students.
