About Thomas Edison Tutoring
I’ve always had a strong passion for maths and have built my academic background around it, achieving an A* in GCSE Maths, followed by A Levels in Maths and Further Maths, and later completing a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I regularly attended STEM events at school, whether it was to represent companies I've worked for or for more personal reasons I’ve always felt it important for students to see where their lessons could take them.
The aim of my tutoring is not simply to help students get through their homework. I want to help them genuinely enjoy maths, become more confident tackling difficult questions and develop the skills they need to perform well in exams

What will the sessions involve?
Weekly lessons – structured learning that works alongside what students are already doing at school.
Homework and independent practice – students will receive work to reinforce what we cover and develop good study habits.
Exam-style questions & past papers – regular practice applying knowledge to the types of questions students will face in their GCSEs.
Building confidence – creating an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and having another go.
Long-term GCSE preparation – for Years 8–10, the focus is on building strong foundations early rather than leaving everything until Year 11.
For Year 11 students, there will be a stronger focus on GCSE exam technique, identifying gaps in knowledge, past-paper practice and maximising marks.
I’m hoping to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students can make real progress while also developing a much more positive relationship
