About Samarth

My journey with Excel began in the context of accounting and business management, where I realized that mastering spreadsheet tools transforms raw data into actionable insights. I completed a B.Com in Accounting and Information Systems, which provided me with strong analytical foundations. Over 6 years of teaching, I have guided learners from basic navigation to advanced data analysis, helping them become confident and capable users of Excel in professional and academic settings.

I believe effective Excel instruction requires a balance of clarity, practicality, and hands-on practice. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, ensuring understanding of fundamental concepts while gradually introducing advanced functions. Students are encouraged to experiment, troubleshoot, and apply their knowledge to real scenarios, fostering independence and skill retention.

Beyond teaching, I continue to explore Excel applications, new tools, and data analysis techniques to keep lessons current and relevant. Teaching Excel is rewarding because I see learners gain confidence, efficiency, and independence. Supporting them as they become capable, analytical, and self-reliant users of spreadsheets is the most fulfilling part of my work.

About the lesson

Excel becomes an essential and intuitive tool when learners understand not just how to use commands but why each function works and how it can be applied to real problems. My lessons focus on helping students gain mastery over spreadsheet fundamentals such as formulas, formatting, data validation, functions, and charts, as well as advanced skills like pivot tables, conditional formatting, lookup functions, and automated data analysis. I emphasize connecting practical examples to real-world applications, whether in finance, business analytics, research, or project management. Students learn to think critically about how to organize, manipulate, and interpret data efficiently, building confidence in their analytical abilities. Each lesson is interactive, with guided exercises, step-by-step walkthroughs, and opportunities to experiment, ensuring learners gain both competence and independence.

Lesson plans are structured based on the learner’s level and goals. Beginners focus on navigation, cell formatting, basic formulas, and chart creation. Intermediate learners expand into conditional logic, lookup functions, pivot tables, and structured workflows. Advanced learners tackle automation, advanced formulas, scenario analysis, and real-world data management projects. Every lesson is carefully scaffolded to ensure mastery at each stage, with continuous feedback and practice to build confidence and accuracy.
