About Bree
My interest in Excel and data management began with exploring how structured information could be used to simplify complex tasks. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Information Systems and an M.Sc in Data Analytics, gaining expertise in spreadsheet modelling, automation, and data interpretation. Over 10 years, I have guided students in mastering Excel’s functionality, emphasising both technical skill and analytical thinking.
I use a structured, step-by-step approach that combines demonstrations, exercises, and problem-solving scenarios. I encourage learners to explore features independently, test hypotheses, and develop logical thinking while building confidence in using spreadsheets effectively. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, ensuring students achieve meaningful and practical mastery of Excel.
Outside teaching, I stay current with software updates, advanced Excel functions, and data management practices. Integrating modern tools, shortcuts, and real-world examples enriches lessons and makes learning engaging and relevant. Watching students transform from hesitant users to confident, proficient Excel practitioners remains the most rewarding part of my professional journey and motivates my dedication to teaching this versatile skill.

My Excel lessons are designed to transform spreadsheets from a tool into a powerful platform for problem-solving, data management, and analysis. I cover foundational topics such as cell formatting, formulae, and functions, while progressing to advanced skills like pivot tables, macros, conditional formatting, and data visualisation. Lessons emphasise practical, real-world applications, allowing students to connect concepts to workplace tasks, academic projects, or personal finance management. I create a supportive environment where learners feel confident experimenting with tools, making mistakes, and gaining mastery at their own pace.
Beginners focus on basic formulae, formatting, and data entry, ensuring they understand the structure and logic behind spreadsheet operations. Intermediate learners explore functions, chart creation, data validation, and intermediate analysis. Advanced learners tackle pivot tables, macros, VBA automation, complex formulae, and scenario modelling. Each session integrates guided exercises, practical examples, and step-by-step instruction to reinforce understanding, develop critical thinking, and enhance proficiency in Excel.
Learning Excel fosters problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and organisational skills. Students develop the ability to manipulate, analyse, and visualise data accurately, improving their academic or professional effectiveness.
