About Grace
I graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from UCSD and have spent 5 years tutoring math across the San Diego area. I also served as a peer instructor in data science courses, teaching Python-based statistical modeling. I’m available weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, and I hold a California teaching credential in mathematics. Outside tutoring, I volunteer at a local coding academy, integrating math and programming concepts for middle school students.

Each lesson begins with a quick check of your arithmetic, algebra, and basic geometry skills to see what needs work. We then cover essential algebra (solving and graphing linear/quadratic equations) and core geometry (angle relationships, triangle reasoning, plotting points). We’ll use Desmos to watch graphs update in real time and Mathematica to solve problems and create simple diagrams. To keep it practical, you’ll work with short data sets (like ocean temperature vs. depth) and write a 1–2-page summary showing how algebra and geometry explain what you see. Every session includes hands-on problem solving together and a mini research task tailored to your interests.
