About Tess

I am a dedicated piano tutor with 11 years of experience teaching students of all ages, including school children, college students, and working professionals. My teaching philosophy focuses on nurturing talent, encouraging creativity, and building confidence in a positive learning environment.

I have helped students perform in recitals, participate in competitions, and successfully complete graded exams. Lessons include technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance skills, tailored to each student’s abilities and goals. My aim is to make learning piano a fulfilling and enjoyable journey that fosters both skill and a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

My teaching style emphasizes compassion, understanding, and positive reinforcement. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel encouraged, valued, and motivated. In piano lessons, I focus on technical skills, rhythm, music reading, and creative expression, combining structured exercises with engaging, meaningful pieces.

I maintain open communication, answering questions clearly, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging students to express their ideas and goals. Supportiveness is central—I guide students patiently through challenges, celebrate successes, and help them gain confidence.

I apply this methodology to other subjects I teach, including music theory, composition, and ear training. My aim is to provide a nurturing, inspiring, and motivating environment where students grow both musically and personally.
