About Camilla

My name is Cam, and I am thrilled to share my passion for languages and cultures with you. Growing up in a bilingual environment, I was fortunate enough to be immersed in both German and Italian from an early age. This unique upbringing not only allowed me to master these languages but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the nuances and beauty of linguistic expression.

I pursued this passion academically, studying translation at university, where I honed my skills and theoretical understanding of language transfer. My love for languages didn't stop there; I've lived in 5 different countries, each experience allowing me to absorb the rich tapestry of local languages and cultures, further enriching my linguistic repertoire.

While I have a profound love for all languages, Italian holds a special place in my heart. It's not only my native language but also the one I connect with on an emotional level. I delight in sharing this love with others, helping them discover the charm and elegance of the Italian language.

That being said, my proficiency in German is at a native level as well. I am equally equipped to guide you through the complexities of German grammar, the strength of its vocabulary, and the cultural depth embedded in its usage.

Whether you are starting from scratch, looking to brush up on your skills, or aiming to achieve fluency, I am here to support your journey.

About the lesson

As a bilingual tutor who grew up in the culturally rich region of South Tyrol, Italy, I bring a unique international experience to teaching German. Having studied translation at university and lived in both Austria and Germany, my qualifications and real-world exposure to the language equip me with the insights and techniques to guide my students effectively. My teaching methodology is dynamic, focusing on immersive learning tailored to young adults with no or basic knowledge of German, as well as high school students aiming to enhance their proficiency for the Leaving Certificate. Lessons are conveniently offered both in-person in Galway and online, each session lasting 1 hour, designed to fit into a busy young adult's schedule.
