I have been tutoring mathematics for 6 years now. I have a B.A in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin. This intense four year course covered every type of mathematics from applied to very theoretical.
I have tutored students of all ages and abilities, from 5 years olds to high school students and adults needing help with college math. I have experience with A-level/IGCSE, Cambridge curriculum, American Commom Core, Canadian (BC) Common Core, GED, SAT, IB, DP, MYP, PYP and the Irish Leaving certificate. Currently I work as a private Mathematics and English tutor in Chiang Mai Thailand.
After I graduated from university I spent 8 months working as a full time high school mathematics teacher at American Pacific International School, a prestigious international school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. These students were working towards taking the Advanced Placement Examinations which would enable them to apply to American, Canadian and other International colleges.
I also had the opportunity to work with the award winning international tutor center Mathnasium. Mathnasium is a math learning center with branches all over the world that focuses on number sense and logic and concept understanding. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take the role as lead instructor at one of their centers in Vancouver, Canada.
Maths has always been my passion and I immensely enjoy using this passion to help anyone who needs it. From students who may find the subject difficult, to those who excel and benefit greatly from individual attention and challenges, breaking down difficult concepts for them and helping them to realize their true potential is what I'm here for.
Math can often seem overwhelming and even irrelevant to daily life but when explained properly and when many examples of real world applications are given it can suddenly become very interesting, a rewarding challenge and even…fun!
If you are struggling with some basic number skills and they are inhibiting you from moving on, I will make sure to get you up to speed. If you are struggling with a specific concept or sub topic I will provide many examples of questions and worked through solutions so you can master that concept. And if you just need some ongoing help with homework, I can help with that too!:)
