About Ana
Helping my students to understand that the main important thing about language is to understand and be understood is my main goal! Sometimes our lack of confidence is caused because of this illusion that is built only on our mind that we have to speak like a native. That is absolutely wrong and impossible! There are variations of dialect and accent everywhere. It is normal, acceptable and should not be a problem if the message you are trying to deliver is understandable.

Portuguese is a challenging language to learn. I do like to understand what my students are looking for first and then, introduce different strategies to achieve our goal. I enjoy working on all skills, speaking, listening, reading...Usually, I start with key words, and then some basic grammar. After that, we learn how to build short sentences. I keep adding more vocabulary and grammar. The part that I like most is the speaking. It is extremely important to practice that!!!
