About Tom
Hi, I’m Tom Sanderson, and I’ve been tutoring since 2017. I started out at Magical Maths, where I learned the ropes and got that all-important classroom experience. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I decided to set up my own business, Tom Sanderson Tutoring, in May 2020. I’ve been running it ever since, helping students achieve their best. I graduated from the University of Northampton in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and I’m always looking to further my studies. I offer tutoring in Maths and English for Key Stage 1 & 2, as well as Psychology and Social Sciences for GCSE through to Level 6 degree. I specialise in qualitative research and have conducted several independent projects on topics like friendships and student engagement. My teaching style is conversational rather than lecture-based. I encourage questions and comments to make learning interactive and engaging. My goal is to foster a love of learning and build confidence in my students. Sessions are usually an hour long but can be adjusted to fit your needs. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to podcasts and writing Sci-Fi fiction. My approach to teaching is conversational rather than lecture-based. While I may present the topic, you are free to interrupt with questions and comments. My goal is to encourage everyone’s nerdy side to shine. I aim to foster a love of learning and build confidence in my students. There is so much to learn, and school barely scratches the surface. Session lengths are typically an hour but can be adjusted based on your needs. I have been teaching since 2017 and graduated from the University of Northampton with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2022. We found Tom because our daughter (6 going on 7) wanted to do more maths. At a loss for how to do this in a fun way, we found Tom. Tom is an incredible teacher.
