About Patrick

I began gymnastics when I was 8 years old and went to my first Junior Olympic Nationals just after my 13th birthday. I was super nervous but still placed 7th on Floor Exercise.

I started my first coaching job at 15 mostly with children 5-18yr. I spent my years during college teaching at both a parkour gym in the summers and a gymnastics facility during the school year.

I have thus accumulated 8 years of professional coaching for a range of acrobatic disciplines. I have learned to be as good at communicating skills to students as I am at performing the skills themselves.

About the lesson

Do you just want to learn a backflip? Get some basic tumbling or flexibility skills? Or do you want to start from the basics to build toward really advanced skills?

The first lesson would be a simple chat about goals and desired skills while we walk through an assessment of your current baseline. Based on this, I would build you a series of progressions. Every skill can be broken down into as many steps as needed to make even daunting and scary skills approachable. There is rarely a need for you to jump way out of your comfort zone for a skill. There is a workaround for every mental block.

I have worked with children as young as 3 and adults as old as 76. I know what reasonable expectations of progression are for any stage of life.

Patrick was a delight to have around. My kid (age 8 at the time) wasn't all too excited about piano at first but once he saw what Patrick could do and was shown how he could get there, he really got into it. Every time he finds a new pop song, he goes to the piano and figures out how to play it. I love it.

I really enjoyed Patrick's teaching approach. He really took the time to understand my goals and work with me. I came into piano thinking I knew what I wanted but when I learned all the different things I could do, we quickly discovered my passion was for improv.
