About Riccardo

Hello! My name is Riccardo, and I’m passionate about helping students succeed in math, physics, and engineering. I have over 5 years working as an R&D Engineer leading complex projects working alongside NASA, as well as the US Air Force and US Army. I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, and I am currently pursuing a second master’s degree in electrical engineering. My academic and professional background gives me a deep understanding of complex technical subjects, as well as the ability to explain them in a way that is clear and approachable. Over the years, I have worked with classmates, colleagues, and younger students, guiding them through challenging coursework and helping them build confidence in their abilities. I know that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to each individual. Whether you need step-by-step guidance, exam preparation, or advanced problem-solving support, I will meet you at your level and help you grow from there. As your tutor, my goal is to make difficult subjects less intimidating and even enjoyable. I take pride in being patient, reliable, and professional — and I want every student I work with to leave our sessions feeling more capable and confident than when they started. If you are ready to strengthen your skills and reach your academic goals, I would be glad to support you on your journey.

My Teaching Method & Techniques
I believe that the best learning happens when complex ideas are broken down into simple, digestible steps. I use a problem-solving approach: first, I explain the underlying concept, then I demonstrate how to apply it to real problems, and finally I guide the student through practice until they feel confident doing it on their own. I adjust my explanations based on the student’s background and learning style — using diagrams, analogies, or step-by-step problem solving as needed.

A Typical Lesson Plan
1. Warm-up / Check-in (5 minutes): Quick review of last lesson or current struggles.
2. Concept Breakdown (10–15 minutes): Clear explanation with examples.
3. Guided Practice (20–30 minutes): Work through problems together, gradually handing responsibility to the student.
4. Independent Practice (10 minutes): Student solves on their own with my feedback.
5. Wrap-up (5 minutes): Recap key points, outline next steps, and assign practice if needed.

What Sets Me Apart
-Engineering Expertise: With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering (and a second master’s in progress), I bring real-world problem-solving experience that many tutors don’t.
-Patient & Adaptable: I know what it’s like to face challenging material, so I meet students where they are — whether they need step-by-step guidance or advanced enrichment.
-Practical Applications: I connect lessons to real-world engineering and science, so students see the why behind the math and physics.
-Clear Communication: I translate technical jargon into plain, understandable language.

Who My Lessons Are For
-High school students preparing for advanced math/physics classes, AP exams, or STEM competitions.
-College/university students taking calculus, physics, engineering fundamentals, MATLAB, or CAD.
-Graduate students or professionals needing help with technical skills like simulations, data analysis, or report writing.
-Anyone who wants to strengthen problem-solving skills in STEM subjects.
