About Iris
I have 4 years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Education. Throughout my teaching journey, I have supported students with varying academic abilities by creating encouraging learning environments where complex algebraic ideas become manageable through clear instruction and consistent practice. Helping students discover confidence in mathematics continues to inspire my work every day.
One student initially struggled with solving algebraic inequalities because interpreting solution intervals and graphing answers on number lines often caused uncertainty. Through visual demonstrations, carefully sequenced exercises, and regular review sessions, the student gradually developed stronger conceptual understanding and successfully mastered increasingly challenging problems.
I believe algebra develops valuable lifelong skills including logical reasoning, precision, perseverance, and analytical thinking. My classroom encourages students to participate actively, ask thoughtful questions, and approach every mathematical challenge with curiosity and determination.
Outside teaching, I enjoy creating interactive mathematics activities, learning about educational psychology, and exploring innovative teaching resources that make algebra more engaging for modern learners. These experiences continually improve my teaching methods and enrich every lesson I deliver.

My teaching philosophy is built on helping students develop confidence by understanding mathematical concepts one step at a time. Before beginning instruction, I evaluate each learner's current knowledge, learning style, and academic objectives to create a personalized lesson plan. Every lesson is carefully organized to strengthen foundational skills while introducing more advanced algebraic concepts through logical progression.
Students study algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, functions, exponents, radicals, polynomial operations, factorization, rational expressions, sequences, quadratic equations, and systems of equations using clear explanations and practical exercises. I encourage learners to explore multiple problem-solving strategies, explain their reasoning, and recognize mathematical patterns that simplify complex questions. This method helps students become independent thinkers instead of relying solely on memorized procedures.
To make algebra meaningful, lessons incorporate examples from economics, software engineering, architecture, business management, robotics, and scientific research. Regular revision activities, concept-based quizzes, and guided practice sessions reinforce understanding while highlighting areas that require additional improvement. Personalized feedback after every lesson allows students to monitor their progress and steadily build confidence.
Students preparing for school assessments, board examinations, SAT, ACT, scholarship tests, university entrance examinations, or mathematics competitions receive customized preparation plans that include structured revision, timed assessments, examination strategies, and continuous progress monitoring. My goal is to help every learner perform confidently while developing a lasting appreciation for algebra.
