About Shannon
Hi, I’m Shannon – an experienced and approachable tutor with a strong academic background and a real passion for helping students feel confident in science and maths. I hold a BA in Biomedical Science from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Alongside tutoring, I work in public health and medical writing, roles that involve breaking down complex scientific data—skills I bring into my lessons to make tricky topics more accessible. I’m also a long-time volunteer with organisations like Shelter from the Storm and Alopecia UK, which has shaped my empathetic and patient teaching style. I've been tutoring GCSE and A-level biology, chemistry, maths, and general science for over five years, including three years as a Premium Tutor on MyTutor. In that time, I’ve worked with a wide range of students—from those aiming for top grades to others who needed help building confidence in the foundations.
