When helping a student with a problem, I will not give them the answer, but rather lead the student to discover the answer for themselves; this is more rewarding for both the student and the teacher.

When I present new material, I emphasize connections outside of the classroom, in the form of both extensions and applications. I do not deal in isolated factoids; I offer the student a reason to learn.
