About Lanya
After working in education, I have learned that teaching is not just about academic learning. There's a unique satisfaction in helping students understand concepts that once seemed daunting to them, watching their confidence grow as they grasp new ideas. Maths can be challenging, but guiding someone through that challenge, breaking down complex problems into manageable steps, and celebrating their "aha" moments is incredibly rewarding. Tutoring also keeps me sharp and deepens my own understanding of math, as I often discover new insights through teaching. Ultimately, it's the joy of making a difference in someone else's learning journey that makes tutoring so fulfilling for me.

Hi! I am Lanya, a former SEN Teaching Assistant and Tutor. My expertise is in Maths and Science, ranging from year 7 all the way up to higher level GCSEs. I have experience working with children of all ages and abilities so I am well aware of the need for a personalised teaching plan for all of my students to help them reach their own potential.
My lessons will be relaxed yet interactive and engaging, with plenty of quick-fire quizzes, videos etc in an approximately hour long session. I will keep up to date with students' progress and always provide clear feedback to help them reach their learning objectives.
