About Parker
I am an experienced guitar player and instructor. I have played as a professional jazz, blues, and rock guitarist in New York City and New Orleans. I have toured nationally with a blues and funk band. I have a music degree from Tulane University. I am well-versed in a variety of music styles including, jazz, pop, rock, musical theater, and R&B. I attended the Skidmore Jazz Institute, and played as the lead guitarist in the New York All-City Jazz band at La Guardia School of Performing Arts. I attended the University of Iowa Jazz workshop for many years. I have featured at notable venues such New Orleans Jazz Fest, Ellis Marsalis Center, and Dizzy's Club (Coca Cola). My original musical love was rock and roll and at age of 11 I created a rock band that got booked at clubs all around NYC including the legendary venue CBGBs. My diverse musical background is also enhanced by my background as an ESL teacher. This feeds into my clear and concise instruction style. I am also the father of 2 delightful little girls, so I am able to connect comfortably with children. I excel at teaching beginners and know how to keep students engaged and make lessons fun. I also am great at teaching advanced students that are looking to take their playing to the next level. All in all, I believe I would be the perfect fit for any student of all levels and ages, and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Excellent! Very patient, skilled and versatile
- Milo is new to learning the guitar, but he is focused and has a natural understanding of music. He just needs to learn the basic chords on the guitar like, C, D, E, A, and more.
