About Amandeep
Kia ora! I am a professional multidisciplinary artist and dedicated art educator. I hold a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Kala Bhawan, Santiniketan, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). I have previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Painting, teaching fine art at the college level. Currently, I am expanding my practice by pursuing postgraduate Contemporary Art studies at Wintec in Hamilton, New Zealand.
I have over 7 years of dedicated experience in oil painting, alongside a broad practice that includes drawing, portraiture, photography, and mixed media. I am passionate about art history, from the Old Masters to contemporary theorists, and I love sharing this knowledge to help students deeply connect with their own artistic process.

My teaching approach is highly adaptable, tailored to each student's individual skill level, interests, and artistic goals. Whether you are a complete beginner wanting to learn the basics of sketching, or an advanced student looking to refine your oil painting techniques and develop a conceptual narrative, I can guide you through the process.
I focus on a mix of classical techniques and contemporary practices. In our lessons, we can cover:
Fundamentals of Art: Observational drawing, sketching, perspective, and color theory.
Specialized Mediums: Oil painting techniques, watercolors, mixed media, and alternative processes like cyanotype.
Specific Subjects: Fine art portraits, caricatures, landscape, and narrative construction.
Academic & Portfolio Support: I can assist students with practice-based research, art theory, and building strong portfolios for university admissions.
I believe in letting the visual elements dictate the story, encouraging students to experiment directly on the surface and find their unique creative voice.
