About Markus
I am a 56-year-old artist who has been an active artist since the age of twenty. Got my first oil paints when I was ten and that's the way it is. My great source of inspiration is nature in all its forms, which of course includes humans and the human body. I have a fairly realistic painting style, love to sit and paint by the sea, but also like to paint other things, beloved people and animals and everything between heaven and earth. I have both a romantic and down-to-earth streak. Teaching visual arts is for me the most natural thing in the world because this is what I have devoted a large part of my life to.

I always start from the individual: the individual's wishes and level. If basic knowledge is needed, we start with that, if the student is more advanced, we start where he stands.
I always respect the student's artistic integrity and help and guide where desired. Something that I usually emphasize are methods that are applicable in all image creation, as well as giving specific advice regarding specific materials. Developing one's artistic vision is also part of my teaching. The most important thing for me is to help the student progress in his artistic development.
