About Sanjay
I am a full-time automotive engineer with a strong academic background in mathematics, physics and engineering. I hold a BEng in Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) from Aston University and an MSc in Sustainable Automotive Electrification (Distinction) from the University of Warwick.
I have global experience working in the automotive industry and currently work at McLaren Automotive as a Senior Steering Systems Engineer.
Alongside my professional role, I enjoy supporting GCSE students who may find maths or physics challenging by explaining concepts clearly, calmly and step by step.

My approach to tutoring is structured, calm and focused on building understanding and confidence, particularly for students who may feel overwhelmed by maths or physics. I aim to make lessons clear and logical, breaking topics down into manageable steps and explaining concepts in a way that is easy to follow.
I use a problem-solving approach where we first ensure the fundamentals are secure, then apply them to GCSE-style questions. I place strong emphasis on understanding why methods work, rather than memorising steps, which helps students improve both accuracy and confidence in exams.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. Lessons usually include:
- A short review of previous work or homework
- Clear explanation of the topic being covered
- Guided practice using GCSE-level questions
- Independent practice with feedback and exam tips
- Lessons are adapted to the individual student’s ability, pace and school exam board where possible.
I am a qualified engineer with a strong academic background in mathematics and physics and I use my professional experience to explain concepts clearly and practically. Although I work full-time as an engineer, I tutor in my spare time and bring a patient, methodical and supportive teaching style.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE students (ages approximately 13–16), including:
- Students preparing for GCSE exams
- Students who need help catching up or reinforcing fundamentals
- Students who lack confidence in maths or physics
- Lessons can be delivered online, with flexible scheduling to fit around school and family commitments.
