About Kristen

I've been creating jewelry for more than 30 years, but my love affair with beads began long before that. In fact, one of the very first things I did after getting my driver's license was drive straight to the local bead store. To me, it wasn't just a place to shop—it was a place of endless inspiration, where every bead held the promise of becoming something beautiful.
Over the years, I've worked with just about every kind of bead imaginable, from tiny seed beads and sparkling crystals to large-hole beads, natural stones, handmade glass, and everything in between. I've embraced changing trends, creating everything from simple everyday pieces to bold statement jewelry, bohemian designs, and one-of-a-kind creations that reflect both timeless beauty and personal expression.
Of all the beads I've collected and designed with, my heart has always belonged to Trade Beads. Their history, rich cultural significance, vibrant colors, and beautifully imperfect simplicity continue to inspire me. Every Trade Bead tells a story, and I love weaving those stories into jewelry that connects the past with the present.
For me, jewelry making is more than assembling beads—it's an art form, a creative journey, and a way to express individuality. Throughout the years, I've learned that there are techniques anyone can master, but the true magic happens when you discover your own style and confidence as a designer.
My goal is to help you build that confidence from the very beginning. Whether you've never strung your first bead or you're looking to expand your creative skills, I'll share the knowledge, techniques, and lessons I've gathered through decades of designing, experimenting, and, most importantly, enjoying every step of the creative process.
