About Lily
Because I’m a current student myself, I understand the challenges of coursework, deadlines, and balancing school with everyday life. This gives me a unique perspective, and allows me to relate to students, explain concepts in an accessible way, and offer study strategies that actually work in today’s academic environment. My background in emergency medical care and customer service has taught me patience, communication, and how to support people under stress, which carries over directly into my tutoring.

My Approach as a Tutor:
As a Biomedical Science undergraduate, I combine strong subject knowledge with a supportive, student-focused teaching style. My approach is based on clarity, patience, and helping students build confidence in their own abilities.
Teaching Method & Techniques:
I break complex concepts into simple, understandable steps and use real-world examples to make topics feel more intuitive. I adapt my explanations to each student’s learning style, whether they prefer visual diagrams, worked examples, or verbal explanations. I also encourage active learning by asking questions, checking understanding, and guiding students through problems rather than simply giving the answers.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Quick review of previous content to make sure the foundations are strong.
Clear explanation of the new topic, personalised to the student’s level.
Guided practice, where we work through questions together.
Independent practice, so students can try problems on their own with support.
Summary and next steps, including revision tips or small goals for the next session.
My tutoring is ideal for:
High school students needing support in biology, chemistry, general science, math, R coding basics.
Students preparing for assessments, coursework, or university applications
Anyone who wants patient, structured, confidence-building help from someone who understands what it’s like to be in their position
I aim to make learning enjoyable, manageable, and rewarding for every student I work with.
