About Moray

I am a British professional with more than 20 years of international experience in hospitality, tourism, business and management.

During my career I have managed hotels, restaurants and casinos in the UK, Europe and East Africa, working with international guests, employees, businesses and organisations from many different backgrounds.

My professional experience has taught me the importance of clear communication, confidence and understanding different cultures and perspectives.

I enjoy meeting people from different countries and helping them develop practical communication skills that they can use in their everyday and professional lives.

My approach is friendly, patient and down-to-earth. I want students to feel comfortable speaking English, asking questions and making mistakes while they learn.

I particularly enjoy working with adults who want to improve their English for hospitality, tourism, business, customer service or career development.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, relaxed and tailored to your individual goals. I specialise in British English for business, hospitality, tourism and customer service.

I believe the best way to improve your English is to use it in realistic situations. Rather than simply following a textbook, we will focus on the communication skills you actually need in your work, studies or everyday life.

A typical lesson will involve conversation and discussion, followed by practical exercises such as workplace role-play, interviews, presentations, customer-service situations or handling difficult conversations. I will correct important mistakes, explain better ways to express yourself and help you build confidence without interrupting the natural flow of conversation.

For hospitality and tourism professionals, we can work with situations such as welcoming guests, answering questions, dealing with complaints, communicating with colleagues and managers, and handling professional telephone or email conversations.

Every student is different, so the lessons will be adapted to your level, interests and objectives. Whether you want to speak more confidently, improve your professional English, prepare for an interview or develop your workplace communication, we will concentrate on the areas that will be most useful to you.

My aim is not simply to teach you English, but to help you feel comfortable and confident actually using it.
