About Prospect
I'm Prospect, a tutor with over 15 years of experience teaching Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Chemistry across South Africa and Zimbabwe since 2008. I currently teach at a Cambridge-curriculum tutoring center in Cape Town, working with students from Form 1 through to A Level.
While I don't hold a formal teaching qualification, my experience has been built through years of hands-on classroom and one-on-one work, developing exam materials, marking schemes, and lessons specifically aligned to the Cambridge syllabus. I got into teaching because I genuinely enjoy the moment a concept finally clicks for a student — especially in subjects like Physics and Math, which can feel intimidating until someone breaks them down the right way.
I'm patient, thorough, and focused on building real understanding rather than quick fixes, and I'd love to help you or your child approach these subjects with more confidence.

My approach is built around genuine understanding rather than memorisation — I break concepts down into clear, logical steps so students see why something works, not just how to apply it. I teach in English.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check of what you already know, moves into explaining the core concept with examples and diagrams, then into practice questions of increasing difficulty. I place strong emphasis on past exam papers, so you become comfortable with how questions are actually asked and marked, and we always review mistakes together since they reveal exactly where the gaps are.
My lessons are aimed at students following the Cambridge curriculum — Physics up to A Level, Mathematics and Chemistry up to O Level, and Computer Science up to A Level. I adapt to each student: some need more structure and repetition to build confidence, others benefit from being pushed with harder, exam-style problems. Whether you're catching up on the basics or aiming for top marks, I'll tailor sessions to get you there.
