About Marc

I am a French cellist, playing and teaching in New York! Teaching is my passion and an important part of my career. My goal is to make you play at your best! I am fluent in English-French and Russian.

About the lesson

Hello there! I have been teaching for 9 years many cellists and I adapt my pedagogy to each student. Listening and helping them to reach their needs and achieve their goals. I have been studying myself in France and in England, now in the US :) Besides my playing, I worked not only as a cello teacher but as a chamber music coach (groups of musicians playing together). So if you have a friend(s) that you want to play with, I can coach you! Usually, I go to the student’s place but I can teach at mine too and remotely. I am very serious and determined when it comes to teaching, but again I am flexible and attentive to your needs/goals. It will be fun and we will cover any kind of piece, exercises, all of it with a great posture that will help you sing on your cello! I speak fluently in English, French, and Russian.

I know Marc since 2013,when we met at the music Academy MusicAlp in the summer, where musicians from all other the world come to give lessons. He has always had a deep interest in teaching and transmitting his enthusiasm of music. He has a huge experience in various teaching methods, coming from the fact that he studied in Paris, London and New-York with a broad range of international musicians. It makes him very adaptable to the students. Marc is a fantastic teacher and an overall very knowledgeable person! The classes are always very motivating and he is very enthusiastic and reliable! I love that he teaches a variety of styles as he comes from a European background and the 'structure' of his lessons and his approach enables me to progress constantly, even though I have started the cello quite late and so I am a fairly late beginner.
