About Simon

I’m Simon, from Quebec, Canada. I have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a graduate-level diploma in teaching. I worked in industry before moving into teaching and tutoring, a combination that lets me explain chemistry with both rigor and concrete examples.

What motivates me is the moment a student goes from “I don’t understand anything” to “oh, so that’s how it works!” I especially enjoy helping students who are struggling: I take the time to find where things get stuck, I explain the material clearly without unnecessary jargon, and I help rebuild confidence in those who think they’re “just not a science person.”

I teach in English or French, in a relaxed but serious atmosphere, with follow-up tailored to each student.

About the lesson

I hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a graduate-level diploma in teaching, and I help students who want to truly understand chemistry rather than memorize it. My industry experience lets me connect theory to real-world applications, which makes the subject clearer and more engaging.

What a lesson looks like: we start with a short discussion of your goals and difficulties, then work through the key concepts with step-by-step explanations, examples and exercises suited to your level. Depending on your needs, I can also go over past exams with you to build exam technique and spot common traps, or prepare revision quizzes to consolidate what you’ve learned before an assessment. Each session ends with a summary and exercises to do on your own.

Who it’s for: middle school and high school students, and first-year university students, for extra support or science exam preparation.

Languages: lessons in English or French, whichever you prefer.
