About Devon
I began my professional tutoring career as a sophomore by helping my roommates in college get through organic chemistry. By the following year, I got a part-time job at the Center for Learning Resources and helped my fellow students with math and chemistry. After graduating, I was hired by the University of New Haven (my alma mater) to teach CHEM 109 which was general chemistry for non-majors. I was teaching nursing students, psych majors, and fire science majors at the time and I saw this as an opportunity to tailor my lectures and the content to the fields in which my students were interested. This not only helped make the information more palatable, but it (hopefully) gave my students a better appreciation of the subject matter.

The hard sciences can be very intimidating especially for some students who require the course for their major but are not majoring in that subject matter. My goal during lessons is to address/assess your weakness(es) in the subject matter and give you the tools necessary for you to be able to succeed.
