About April
Hello! I'm a native Mandarin speaker from China with a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from South China Normal University. I have experience teaching adults in China and supporting Chinese lessons in UK secondary schools.
I enjoy helping people discover the Chinese language and culture, and I love seeing students become more confident as they learn. Every student learns differently, so I always try to create a friendly and encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making progress. Whether you're learning for school, work, travel or personal interest, I'd be happy to help you achieve your goals.

I believe learning a language should be enjoyable, practical and tailored to each student. I teach Mandarin to children, teenagers and adults, whether they are complete beginners or looking to improve their speaking, listening, reading or writing.
I have a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from South China Normal University and experience teaching both adults in China and secondary school students in the UK. My lessons are interactive and adapted to each learner's goals, whether that's preparing for exams, building confidence in conversation, learning Chinese for work, or exploring Chinese culture.
I use a range of activities, games, role plays and real-life situations to keep lessons engaging. I am patient, supportive and always encourage students to learn at their own pace. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I am happy to adapt the length to suit different ages and learning needs.
