About Luhong

Hello, Future Students!

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share a bit about myself and why I'm passionate about teaching. My name is Lucy ZHANG and I'm not just a tutor; I'm a mother of three wonderful children. As you can imagine, my life revolves around family, and my kids, especially the youngest who's still a toddler, require my attention and care.

In many ways, being a mom has been a rewarding journey, but it has also prompted me to adapt my career path. My original calling was in research, and while that's still a part of who I am, my circumstances as a parent have led me to explore new avenues.

Currently, I work part-time for an educational company, devoting two days a week to my job. This leaves me with three precious days when my children are at school, which I use to manage household responsibilities and enjoy some relaxation. However, what truly fuels my desire to teach is my aspiration for my kids to be bilingual, just like me.
You see, I'm not just a native Mandarin Chinese speaker; I'm also fluent in English and can communicate in the Hakka dialect and understand some Cantonese. I've been teaching my own children Mandarin Chinese, and the joy of watching them become bilingual is a deeply fulfilling experience for me.
Now, I want to extend this knowledge and passion to other students who are eager to learn Chinese. Teaching isn't just a profession for me; it's a personal mission. I understand the challenges of balancing parenthood with career aspirations, and I believe that by offering my expertise in Chinese language and culture, I can help students embark on their bilingual journey while respecting their unique life circumstances.
So, whether you're interested in mastering Pinyin, diving into Chinese culture, or exploring the beauty of ancient Chinese poems, I'm here to guide you on this cultural and linguistic adventure. I look forward to joining you on this exciting learning journey!
