Hello! I’m Yaavnea, an experienced Classical Carnatic vocal teacher with extensive training and years of teaching expertise.

I specialize in helping students of all ages and levels develop strong vocal skills, master ragas and talas, and gain confidence in musical expression. My lessons are structured, interactive, and personalized, combining traditional Carnatic techniques with practical guidance on voice modulation, pitch, and rhythm.

I use a structured yet flexible approach that balances traditional Carnatic training with practical application. My techniques include:

Vocal and instrumental exercises – developing swara (notes), pitch control, and rhythm.

Raga and tala practice – learning melodic frameworks and complex rhythmic patterns step by step.

Compositions and kritis – guiding students through classical pieces while emphasizing pronunciation, expression, and style.

Improvisation techniques – introducing alapana, neraval, and kalpana swaras for advanced students.

Interactive learning – using demonstrations, call-and-response, and online tools for engaging lessons.

Lesson Structure and Length
A typical lesson lasts 45–60 minutes and may include:

Warm-up (5–10 min): Vocal exercises, breathing, and scales.

Skill Focus (20–25 min): Raga, tala, or technical exercises.

Practice & Application (15–20 min): Learning compositions, improvisation, or performance techniques.

Review and Guidance (5–10 min): Feedback, tips, and practice assignments.
