About Gigi

I am a writer, editor, and college application essay specialist with 25+ years of experience in writing, editing, proofreading, and teaching. I have degrees from West Virginia University in English, Russian, and Russian Literature, and minors in History and French.
I translate my passion and expertise in writing to guide high school seniors through the college application essay process, including the Common App essay, University of California PIQs, and any supplemental essays. I also work with undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral candidates, and medical school applicants with their essay requirements and assignments. It is essential for students to be exceptional writers, regardless of the field they will be studying, but the writing process can sometimes be challenging. I remind students that their story is already inside them, and we will work together to pull that story out and craft exceptional essays that reflect who they are.
I can tailor my expertise to meet your needs and create a strategy to help you achieve your goals. My students and clients range from high school and college kids to adults returning to college to professionals seeking writing/editing services. Additionally, I have extensive experience in content writing, copyediting, and proofreading. My expertise includes essays, papers, articles, blog posts, social media content, newsletters, speeches, grants, nonprofit donation letters, manuals, bios, marketing pieces, product and service descriptions, real estate and Airbnb descriptions, memoirs, obituaries and eulogies, personal and mission statements, and manuscript beta reading.

When not teaching and writing, I channel my love of reading into creating bookmarks from deconstructed vintage jewelry. I'm a true crime nerd and can usually be found assembling a new collection of bookmarks while binge-watching British crime dramas or listening to true crime podcasts.
