About David
While I am young and in college, I have experience in not only tutoring but 2 years (will be 3 soon haha) of Python programming, a year in JavaScript, and am expecting 2 Cyber Security certifications on my resume by the end of this semester. Being a student myself, I know what my classroom needs in order for learning to be engaging and fruitful. So, it's safe to say I can teach these things at about high-school level.

I'm a really big fan of visual programming tools (VPTs), such as Blockly or Scratch, because they can help introduce basic concepts like algorithms and problem solving, as well as teaching the student how to break the problem into smaller parts.
I'd also implement things like code-along sessions into my class, where I write code live and explain each step, while students code along on their own devices. This way, students can follow a guided process and see immediate results, which helps them understand the flow of coding.
Problem-based learning is also a great way to impart critical thinking skills onto my students, as presenting students with real-world problems and having them solve it with programming is essentially what they will be doing in the field, so why not prepare them in class?
Lastly, I'm a huge advocate for gamification of learning. I'd incorporate elements of games, such as points and rewards, in order to make learning fun and engaging. Competition and contests promote a healthy sense of motivation, pushing my students to improve their skills. It creates a sense of achievement for my students as they unlock new knowledge.
