About Kai

I am an undergraduate music student at NYU and a professional studio drummer and live performer. With over five years of professional teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages, from elementary school beginners to adult learners.
My background combines formal music education with real-world performance experience, allowing me to approach teaching from both a technical and musical perspective. I am skilled in a wide range of styles, including rock, pop, and jazz, and I am passionate about helping students build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a genuine love for playing the drums.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are personalized, structured, and designed to help each student grow with confidence and musicality. With over five years of professional teaching experience and active work as a studio drummer and performer, I combine real-world musicianship with strong technical foundations.
Lessons focus on proper technique, timing, groove development, and exposure to wide range of musical genres. I work with students of all ages — from elementary school beginners to adults — and tailor each session to individual goals, whether that’s learning favorite songs, preparing for performances, or building advanced independence and improvisation skills.
My goal is not only to improve technical ability, but to help students become expressive, versatile, and confident musicians.
