About Kim
Hello! I'm Kim, an experienced educator with 27 years of teaching experience, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and an MBA. Throughout my career, I have helped students of all ability levels build confidence, develop practical skills, and achieve their academic goals.
When you work with me, you're getting more than a tutor—you're getting someone who genuinely cares about your success. I believe every student is unique, and I take the time to understand each individual's strengths, challenges, and learning style. My lessons are engaging, hands-on, and tailored to meet your specific needs.
Education has been a central part of my life both professionally and personally. I am married to a fellow educator who serves as a school superintendent, so our family understands the value of learning, growth, and helping students reach their full potential.
Outside the classroom, I am a wife, mother, soon-to-be grandmother, cheer coach, outdoor enthusiast, and proud Goldendoodle mom. As a Southern educator, I value hard work, kindness, patience, and building meaningful relationships. My students know they can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn in a supportive, encouraging environment.

My teaching approach is highly interactive and hands-on. I believe students learn best by doing, so I focus on real-world applications, projects, guided practice, and problem-solving rather than simply lecturing. I adapt my instruction to each student's learning style, skill level, and goals.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of prior knowledge, followed by direct instruction and demonstration. Students then complete a hands-on activity or project that allows them to apply what they have learned. For example, in a business course, students might create a marketing plan, develop a budget in Excel, or complete an accounting cycle using realistic business scenarios. Throughout the lesson, I provide individualized feedback and support to ensure understanding and success.
What sets me apart is my commitment to building relationships with my students. With 27 years of teaching experience, I understand that students are more than just names on a roster—they are individuals with unique strengths, challenges, interests, and learning styles. I take the time to get to know each student and tailor my instruction to help them reach their full potential.
