About Shanelle
Hello! My name is Shanelle and I am a currently a college student at UNC-Chapel Hill seeking a degree in Statistics & Analytics. I give college counseling advice and tutor grade school students in math, english, and writing. I understand that with virtual learning, this is a time of great need for tutors who are approachable, knowledgeable, and experienced in working with students. I have tutored elementary, middle, and high school students in core subjects in the past, and I would love to help you or your child succeed. I can work off of a syllabus or teach lesson-specific sessions depending on the student's needs.

I have completed college-level math and all of the core mathematics through calculus. I have tutored and volunteered at local schools for aiding students in math.
I also review grammar or language concepts with any student who is struggling. English is my first language, but my 8-year background in Spanish also allows me to communicate effectively with ESL students.
I have taken 8 years of Spanish and am pursuing a Spanish minor in college. I have tutored and volunteered at schools teaching vocabulary, speaking, and reading/writing concepts in Spanish up to the highest high school level.
I have been through the college application process, and therefore can offer great insights into college apps, namely the Common App/Coalition personal essay or college-specific prompts. I can proofread essays for grammar or content, as well as assist in the brainstorming process.
I am eager to help any student who is struggling with concepts or needs extra motivation and support in their courses. My goal is to improve the students' self-esteem as well as their grades. I respond quickly, so feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule lessons!
