About Kendl
I believe every student is capable of learning when they are given the right support, encouragement, and teaching approach. My tutoring style is patient, personalized, and focused on helping students understand why something works rather than simply memorizing an answer.
I work with elementary and middle school students in math and science, meeting each student at their current level and adjusting my approach based on how they learn best. I take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, and learning preferences so that our lessons are productive, engaging, and comfortable.
My goal is to create an environment where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. I want students to leave each session feeling not only more knowledgeable, but also more confident in their ability to learn and solve problems independently.
I take professionalism seriously and believe that effective tutoring requires preparation, consistency, patience, and clear communication. Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening foundational skills, preparing for an assessment, or simply gaining confidence in a challenging subject, I am committed to meeting them where they are and helping them move forward.
My philosophy is simple: I don't expect students to learn the way I teach. I teach in a way that helps the student learn.

My approach to tutoring is centered on one simple idea: **students should not be expected to learn the way I teach; I should teach in a way that works for the student.**
I take time to understand how each student processes information, where they are struggling, and what helps concepts make sense to them. Some students learn best through visual examples, some need concepts broken down into smaller steps, while others learn best by working through problems and talking through their thought process. I adjust my teaching style based on the student rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to identify what the student already understands and where they are having difficulty. From there, I explain the concept in a way that connects to their learning style and use examples, guided practice, questions, and hands-on problem solving to reinforce it. I then have the student work through problems independently while I provide support and feedback. We finish by reviewing what they learned and identifying anything that may need additional practice.
What sets me apart is my patience and willingness to **meet students where they are without making them feel behind or incapable**. I believe struggling with a subject does not mean a student cannot learn it—it often means they have not been taught the concept in a way that makes sense to them yet.
I provide tutoring for **elementary and middle school students in mathematics and science**, including students who need help understanding classroom material, completing assignments, strengthening foundational skills, preparing for tests, or building confidence in subjects they find challenging.
My goal is not simply to help a student get the right answer. **I want them to understand how they arrived at the answer so they can eventually solve the problem on their own.**
