My teaching method includes a lot of differentiated instruction. I strive to hit the needs of all my students by first analyzing and assessing any possible weaknesses and strength. I approach each lesson with high expectations. I take the time to learn about what will help them focus, whether that be more visuals or more sounds. I approach each student with the mindset that they are able to achieve anything and I instill in all my students the confidence that they have the capacity to be successful as long as they try their best. We focus on identifying letters, letter sounds, vowel patters and much more. Which letter translate into reading lower level books and than to more challenging books.
I am an Elementary Education teacher who has worked with students in grades Kindergarten to third grade. I usually teach between 1 to 20 students at any given time. This following year my Kindergarten class contained 20 students. Within that 20, by the end of the year 15/20 students were reading above kindergarten level. I have tutored on average 7 third grade students at a time in reading. I also tutor one on one after school with struggling readers. Currently I give private tutor lessons to 4 students and I have gotten 3/4 to start reading fluently. Within that 4, English is not their first language.
