About Laura

I have 17 years of experience in multiple settings and have helped students achieve success over those years. With experience and training in the South Carolina school system, I am familiar with the ELA state requirements. Additionally, I have completed the Orton Gillingham Subscriber Level course and the Wilson Reading Program, two resources noted for their success in developing learners with reading and writing difficulties. I was selected to run a pilot program of reading and writing remediation through drama and journalism. I am ready to help you!

About the lesson

I'm a teacher with experience instructing students of multiple levels, ages, and abilities. I don't teach just content; I teach learning strategies that build on your strengths. I get to know YOU as a person and work with your interests and gifts to help you achieve. I would consider myself creative and try to craft lessons that are engaging and sometimes out-of-the-box. I want learning to be as hands-on as possible and applicable to real life skills.
