About Milton
I am an English teacher with experience working with middle and high school students, including students in magnet school populations. Teaching in that environment has given me experience supporting students with demanding coursework while also helping them become more confident in their reading and writing.
I have worked with students at different skill levels, which has taught me to be patient and flexible in the way I explain material. My goal is to create a tutoring environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through difficult assignments without feeling rushed.
As a classroom teacher, I understand the expectations students face in school and aim to make English feel clearer and more manageable while helping students become more independent.

My approach to tutoring is focused on helping students understand how to work through reading and writing on their own, rather than simply giving them the answer. As an English teacher, I am used to meeting students at different skill levels and adjusting my instruction based on what is actually giving them trouble.
A typical lesson begins with the student’s current assignment or goal. We may read through a passage together, discuss what it means, or work through a piece of writing they have already started. I like to ask questions that help students explain their thinking, because this often makes it easier for them to organize their ideas when they begin writing.
What sets me apart is my classroom experience. I understand the expectations students are working under and can help make those expectations feel more manageable. My tutoring is best suited for middle and high school students who want extra support in English or who simply want to become more confident readers and writers.
