About Mary
I am a passionate educator, researcher, and professor with advanced training in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Biochemistry. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have taught and mentored students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, helping them navigate challenging scientific and quantitative concepts with confidence.
My experience as both a researcher and teacher allows me to bridge theory and practice, showing students how concepts learned in the classroom are applied to real-world research and decision-making. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take pride in creating a supportive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment where questions are welcomed and progress is celebrated.
Whether you are preparing for an exam, working on a research project, learning statistical software, or seeking a deeper understanding of the life sciences, I am committed to helping you achieve your academic goals and develop skills that will benefit you long after our lessons are complete.

I am an experienced Epidemiologist and Biostatistician with a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and MSc and BSc degrees in Biochemistry. I have taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Biology, Biochemistry, Statistics, Research Methodology, Epidemiology, and Data Analysis for several years.
My teaching approach is student-centered and tailored to each learner's goals, background, and pace of learning. I begin by identifying areas of difficulty and then develop a structured plan that combines concept clarification, practical examples, guided problem-solving, and independent practice. I emphasize understanding rather than memorization, helping students build confidence and develop critical thinking skills that extend beyond a single course or examination.
I also provide instruction in R programming, statistical analysis, and research methods, making complex concepts accessible through real-world examples and hands-on applications. My lessons are ideal for high school, undergraduate, graduate, and health sciences students seeking academic success, research support, or professional development.
