About Rob

At the heart of me and everything I enjoy is my true love for languages and connecting with other people. This is what drives me to do what I do as a teacher. I don't believe in boring repetition and reading verb tables until you fall asleep. I believe in bringing the French that people *actually* speak to the classroom. In incorporating music, culture, history, sport, art, TV & cinema, REAL VOICES AND REAL PEOPLE to the class. Learning languages and passing them on to others has *completely* changed who I am as an individual and given me such a rich and meaningful outlook on life. There's nothing I love more than sharing this passion with others and watching them go from strength to strength in their learning journey. So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!!

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Rob. I'm a Scottish gal by blood but French in every other possible way. At university, I studied both French and Spanish and graduated with distinction from a reputable British university. During this time, I said goodbye to sunny Scotland and moved myself out to an even sunnier south of France. I spent time living and working there as a foreign language teacher for the Académie de Montpellier where I developed my skills teaching over 200 pupils a week and curating lessons for a range of ages and abilities. Most importantly, I learnt how to get learners excited and deliver those rewarding results. Coming from a similar background myself, I understand the feelings that come with language learning- sometimes you just need someone who can break it down and relate to you on a familiar level. I've been that student before! That's why each tailor-made lesson comes with a range of different material to make it work for you. I put the needs of the student at the heart of every lesson. As part of my courses, we always start by figuring out what exactly it is you want from the classes. My hour long lessons are designed for beginner/intermediate level learners ranging from ages 11+ If you have ever considered learning a language, or know someone who has, now is the time to get in touch!
