About Matthew
I am a 53 year old scientist. I graduated in Biomedical Sciences in 1994 and became a Forensic Scientist in 1995. I have worked mainly with DNA technologies, DNA fingerprinting, toxicology, research and development. 2013 I became a secondary science teacher and worked for 5 years in several schools on supply. Teaching many aspects of science at KS3 and KS4 with some A level Biology. I encourage and inspire my students and always have a welcoming environment, have had much experience of SEN. I tutor to suit the student, making sessions applicable to them. Recent students went from expected grades of 4 or 5 to 7, 8 and 9.

I have been a Scientist since I graduated in 1994. BSc (Hons). Biomedical Sciences. I was a Forensic Scientist for 16 years specialising in DNA technologies, scene of crime, toxicology and some entry level criminal psychology. 2013 I completed the PGCE in Secondary Science at Masters level and did 5 years classroom teaching, including after school grade booster lessons. Have recently tutored GCSE students who have had poor teaching, inconsistent teaching staff and revision lessons to improve knowledge and skills.
My tutor lessons can be as simple as going over content done that week at school. Revision of topics for tests. Exam practice question sessions with marking and discussion of the mark scheme giving good exam skills and exam practice. Tuition is tailored to you.
