About Jordan

Hello! My name is Jordan, and I have dedicated much of my career to working with and supporting young people. I am a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a master's degree in Sport Management. I am also a proud graduate of Natomas High School and have spent most of my life in the Sacramento area.

Throughout my career, I have worked as a classroom teacher, substitute teacher, recreation aide, and tutor. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with students of many different ages, backgrounds, and learning styles. I enjoy helping students discover their strengths, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

I believe that every student is capable of success when they receive encouragement, patience, and instruction that is tailored to their individual needs. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing both academically and personally.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy training and working with animals, cheering on the Sacramento Kings, and playing video games. These interests help me connect with students and create lessons that are engaging, relatable, and enjoyable.

Whether your child needs help building a strong foundation in math, catching up in class, or gaining confidence with challenging concepts, I am committed to providing supportive, personalized instruction that helps them succeed.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is centered on each individual student. I begin by identifying where they are academically, recognizing their strengths, and understanding the areas where they need additional support. From there, I create personalized lesson plans that build confidence while helping them make steady progress.

I believe learning should move at a pace that is comfortable without becoming too easy. My lessons are designed to challenge students appropriately, keeping them engaged without feeling overwhelmed. As students grow in confidence, I gradually introduce more advanced concepts to help them reach their full potential.

A typical lesson includes a review of previous material, guided practice with new concepts, hands-on activities or problem-solving, and opportunities for students to ask questions and explain their thinking. I also adjust lessons based on each student's learning style and goals so that every session is meaningful and productive.

One of the things that sets me apart is my experience as a former teacher, substitute teacher, recreation aide, and tutor. Working with children in classrooms, community programs, and one-on-one settings has taught me how to connect with students of different ages, abilities, and learning styles. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and celebrating their progress.

I primarily work with elementary and middle school students and can also support high school students in many math subjects. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a genuine enjoyment of learning that lasts beyond our lessons.
