About Chan

I am currently a Cégep student in Health Sciences and I speak French, English, and Korean. I have over 4 years of experience working with children, starting as a volunteer tutor before moving into private tutoring. Most of the children I worked with were between 8 and 13 years old and were newcomers who were just beginning to learn French. I supported them as they progressed from welcome classes into regular classes.

I would describe myself as patient, understanding, and easygoing, while still knowing when to be firm. I like creating a relationship where children feel comfortable with me and aren't afraid to ask questions or make mistakes, while maintaining the structure of a teacher-student relationship. I also try to keep lessons enjoyable and explain difficult concepts in simple ways. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy working with children and seeing them become more comfortable and confident in French.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed specifically for children and adapted to each child’s level, needs, and learning pace. I have over 4 years of experience tutoring children aged 8–13, so I understand the importance of keeping lessons clear, encouraging, and engaging.

I can help with reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation, and schoolwork. I also help children prepare for tests, complete homework, or strengthen areas they find difficult.

My goal is to create a comfortable environment where children are not afraid to make mistakes, ask questions, and practice French. Lessons are personalized according to what each student needs to improve, while helping them become more confident and independent in French.
