About Karen

Following a 14 year love affair with yoga via weekly classes and online videos, I decided to take the plunge in February 2018, and spent an intensive 4 weeks in Rishikesh, India qualifying as a registered 200hr teacher. I taught group classes in studios in Brixton and Camberwell until 2020, when since Covid I have been predominantly teaching online for weekly classes. I do still offer in-person workshops and 1:1 sessions. I returned to Rishikesh last year where I completed a 50hr Yin Yoga qualification, and I love to offer this more restorative yoga along with Yoga Nidra for complete relaxation. I maintain my own daily practice, and love the shared bonds and friendships that have grown from the wide range of students and teachers I have met along my journey.

About the lesson

My regular classes specialise in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow for beginners and mixed ability groups. I explore the connection between breath and movement, body and mind. Building strength, flexibility, balance and having fun! Be prepared for music, Sun Salutations and challenging asanas. I studied the Ashtanga Primary series in India for my teacher-training and am focussed on the importance of alignment in practice. I completed a 50hr Yin Yoga training in 2024 and now also teach the more restorative styles of Yin and Yoga Nidra.
I am available for private 1:1 classes too, and am keen to get involved with local groups so please get in touch!

We had a great chat online about Beata's aims for her yoga classes and what her interests are with regards learning yoga techniques and poses. We practiced a few different basic poses to see Beata's movement range and style and I am looking forward to working more with her face to face.

Details

These rates are for private 1:1 tuition at your home/workspace. If you attend one of my current group classes at a studio the rate is £12 per 1 hour class. If you wish to organise a private group class at your workspace, then rates are from £10 per person for 1 hour class, depending on distance travelled.
