About Mellisa

Hello, my name is Mellisa and I am a Primary School Teacher. I come from a large family as the oldest sibling and having always been the one to pass on information and tips and tricks to my younger siblings when it comes to school work. From this I knew I always wanted to be a teacher or somewhat involved in education.
I have taught all year groups in different school environments as a supply teacher. Therefore, I have gained a wide skill-set which allows me to adapt to a child's individual needs . My role in schools of have allowed me access to many different resources and teaching approaches. Which I am constantly adding to, adpating or changing. I also know what schools expect from their pupils and that is why I am able to work along with their expectations and deliver useful knowledge to your children.
As a tutor, I have the ability to detect the strengths and areas for improvement of my students and plan along with their needs. The most important goal for me is to create a love for learning and make learning lifelong, instead of "we need to learn this for the test". I work hard to help my students feel safe and secure and willing to achieve.

I am offering tutoring to children Pre- School to secondary. I have multiple years of experience in teaching with proven records of helping children achieve their goals. I'm flexible in how I teach my methods and adapt to fit the needs of my learner. However I keep lessons as practical as possible and give children real life, hands on experiences. A typical lesson usually lasts around 1hr.
