My main teaching method is fun. This is game development after all, and though it does often border on not-fun, I feel like the learning process should be interesting. After all, our brains are literally wired to remember things we enjoy. In general, this class is split into two segments: theory and design, and actual development. Design is more informational, and serves as a starting point for the essential process of planning your game out. Our development portion will center on implementing those designs using Unity, one of the most popular and powerful tools for creating games. (It's free).
I've been developing games and tools for games for a while, and during my time studying Computer Science at my University, I began teaching game development and design for groups of absolute beginners every single week. Through my program, students were able to create basic games and learn concepts and skills necessary to start making the projects of their dreams.

One of the brightest and most talented people I've known for years, whom I can vouch for as an extremely effective and well-rounded teacher. They served as president of the Video Game Development Club at our university and regularly gave very informative presentations and tutorials on the game development process, helping many--myself included--both learn and cultivate a true passion for making games. They're very skilled in breaking down complex subject materials and explaining each individual component in a way that's easy to understand. Their teaching style is very personable and really makes you love what you are learning. I strongly recommend them as a teacher!
Evelyn is a fantastic teacher for the world of coding and video game development. I've known her for roughly 4 years, ever since she was the president of the South Alabama Video Game Development Club, probably even before that. She's very hands on with her lessons, as expected for game development, and she's very straightforward with her teaching. I highly recommend her.
Evelyn has been very patient with me, especially with the *hundreds* of questions I've asked her and has been such a great teacher. She is very clear with her explanations and makes it even seem less intimidating and super fun! (which if you've ever seen aftereffects, you'll know how scary it seems)
10/10 definitely going to her again if I need more help ️
Evelyn was kind enough to accommodate a last minute request, and she was very knowledgeable and patient. She really saved my day!
