About Yadan

I believe every student can learn—sometimes they just need the right explanation, the right pace, and someone who truly listens. My lessons are designed to be friendly, encouraging and completely pressure-free. I regularly teach Year 7 to Year 9 students, including learners with ADHD or confidence issues, and I always adapt my approach to keep them engaged and motivated. A typical lesson lasts around 1–2 hours, where we mix clear step-by-step teaching with interactive practice and plenty of positive reinforcement. I focus on building understanding first, then confidence, and then independence. I hold an Enhanced DBS Check and several safeguarding and education-specific qualifications, which help me create a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment. My lessons are ideal for KS1 to KS3 students who need clear explanations, patient guidance or a confidence boost in Maths or Science.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on building confidence, clarity, and steady progress. I work with KS1 and GCSE Foundation students who may feel anxious, easily lose focus, or struggle with traditional classroom teaching. My approach is patient, structured, and centred around helping students understand why something works, not just memorising steps. I typically break explanations into small, manageable stages and use many guided practice questions to help students develop confidence. For learners with attention difficulties, I use short tasks, visual cues, and clear routines to keep lessons engaging and reduce overwhelm. Each lesson lasts around 60 minutes, but I can adjust the length for younger students or those who benefit from shorter, more focused sessions. I always tailor the pace to the individual student. I currently tutor secondary students in the UK, including Year 8 and Year 9 learners preparing for GCSE Foundation Maths and Science. Several of my students have ADHD or anxiety, so I carefully adapt my teaching style to make sure they feel supported and motivated. My background includes a degree in Linguistics and multiple UK safeguarding and education certificates, including enhanced DBS, First Aid Essentials, The Prevent Duty, and training in dealing with behavioural challenges. These allow me to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for younger learners.
