About Mark
I am a PhD student in anthropology and love all kinds of instruments; I have played piano at cathedral services and at various restaurants and bars around the world. I am largely self-taught, and will encourage you to be the same, giving you the skills you need to progress and the motivation to want to learn more of the bottomlessness of musical improvisation and composition.

Technique is best learnt through playing things which sound good immediately; sounding skilful and beautiful is intimately connected with actually playing things you enjoy. This is what I bring to you: you will like what you are playing and want to progress in improvisation, having a curiosity to improve each day.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I really enjoyed doing piano lessons with Mark because he is one of those teachers who starts with art to get you hooked on theory. With him in just a few lessons you understand little tips that allow you to explore music in different forms... from classical to electronic, learning how to improvvise. Mark has almost an absolute ear, so doing lessons online was easy because he noticed my mistakes just by hearing the notes, without needing to see them. He has patience and he’s very passionate, managing to convey this love and inspire the student. Furthermore, he motivated me as he believed in me a lot and gave me a lot of self confidence. I highly recommend.
Mark is an exceptionally talented pianist and committed and passionate tutor. His infectious enthusiasm has meant that I feel inspired to practice and enjoy the process of learning and honing my skills. He is an all-round lovely guy and I’d recommend him as a piano tutor to everyone.
