About Praveen

Since graduating with my MSc. I have been a professional tutor for 5+ years. In that time I have taught over 100+ students, conducting my sessions online through Zoom. I approach students with an encouraging and friendly tone but I do not patronize, and expect my students to rise to a high bar. My sessions are highly interactive and provide a problem-solving first approach after a simple debriefing of the relevant concepts. When the sessions are going well - you should expect it to be like having a highly stimulating conversation where your imagination for understanding the world in a physical and metaphysical sense is stretched and excited. By the end of every session you should feel a remarkable improvement in your understanding and confidence in tackling problems. One of my students, C, was a high achiever who had no high school or middle school education. As a result she had absolutely no basic understanding of arithmetic, algebra, math, physics. In fact, she didn’t know that (-1) x (-1) = 1. However she was determined to become a vet. When she made it to college - she passed all her courses except her math and physics courses which she hopelessly failed. She needed to take summer school and if she didn’t pass this time she would have to say goodbye to her dream of being a veterinarian. In the beginning of the summer she booked sessions with me and by the end of the summer she passed both courses with a 95 and 93 - an astounding improvement from not knowing basic arithmetic to passing full college-level physics and math courses. I am confident I can do the same thing for you.

About the lesson

With just under a decade of experience teaching students - and being a self taught physicist before obtaining my degree at 22- I provide a very student centric approach which explains concepts in physics and math in a digestible yet profound way. As a teaching assistant in University, many students remarked that their only time learning physics was during my sessions with them. Being closer in my contextual understanding with younger students - i can explain concepts in a relatable way so that you can learn the subject without the jargon and understand it much more deeply in a way you didn’t imagine was possible. Physics and Math are both logics that you are highly familiar with and I am a strong believer that all “hard” concepts can be understood when explained in today’s conversational language. In fact, they are simply being explained in the previous century’s conversational language which is what causes most of the confusion.
